As I predicted Nunes defended her title successfully and gotten her hands raised! She is a tough champion and not easy to win against. I will mention again her fight with Ronda where no one was expecting her to defeat Ronda but Nunes was victorious. Pennington had nothing much to offer against Nunes though the fight went to distance till the 5th round where Nunes knocked out Pennington. Nunes attacked her from different angles with hard damaging blows. Kicking Pennington with leg kicks, it made it hard for Pennington to bring power in her punches. Nunes is champion for a reason and I am sure that she will reign for quite some time, I mean I don’t see any fighter defeating her soon.
Belfort vs. Machida:
It seems with the passage of time Belfort is no longer a vigilant and aggressive fighter anymore. He was not in the fighting zone at all and was playing defensive. I must say that it was the cleanest knockout I have ever seen. Machida touched Belfort’s jaw with high kick and it was game over. Awesome knockout victory for Machida.
The fight went to distance and to my amazement Gastelum won the fight. No doubt that Gastelum’s foot work and excellent boxing skills paid him off big time. It was one of the best victories and Gastelum added another victim to his list. Awesome fight guys, it’s a must watch. There was a time when Jacare landed a couple of good punches but Kelvin did not give him much room and defended the take downs in an awesome manner.
UFC 224 will take place on 12th May, 2018 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
It features Bantamweight Title fight between Nunes and Pennington
The Brazilian Fighters are known to have prominent success in UFC fights (MMA) and Nunes the Bantamweight champion is a great example of that aspect. Brazil has given birth to many brilliant Mixed Martial artists.
Keep in mind that Nunes is the first woman UFC champion from Brazil holding the Bantamweight championship belt. She will be defending the belt for the third time against Pennington who is the number one contender in the bantamweight division.
The other highlight for Brazilians and UFC fans is the fight between Jacare Souza (Jiu Jitsu Champion) & Kelvin Gastelum . Jacare is an excellent submission artist but Kelvin is not short of punching power and technique.
I can’t wait to see the fights go live and my prediction is that Amanda Nunes will successfully defend the title once again. I remember how Nunes finished Ronda, I said wow!
Second prediction is that Jacare will have victory over Kelvin…!

The other fight which I am really looking forward to is between Belfort vs Machida, both fighters are skilled and the fight can go any direction.
I remember that Belfort was the only fighter to have had submission grip on Jon Jones and Belfort is famous for his excellent kicking power.
Not to forget that Machida is an Excellent Karate artist with unique foot work and movement & he is not at all easy to attack on as his moves are not predictable.
My prediction about this fight is that Belfort will win over Machida as I personally think that Belfort is more aggressive and can fight standing and on ground.
It will be fun guys and I can’t wait to see the PPV UFC 224 event.
In the first two rounds, Khabib was able to take down Laquinta and do some damage but in the later rounds it seems as if Khabib is getting tired and bored as he started to fight while standing and exchanging punches. I appreciate the efforts put in by Laquinta, he stood up for the challenge and fought Khabib on a very short notice as things were getting crazy in UFC. Conor attacked the Bus carrying UFC 223 fighters and I think it’s quite foolish by Conor. He must have found another great ad after Burger King hired him for their ad campaign but I don’t think he will be able to return to the Octagon now. Excess of money can also make you go crazy. Anyway, because Khabib was the more dominant attacker and because he did the most damage, he was crowned as the undisputed lightweight champion. Well deserved victory by Eagle.
Rose Namajunas vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk:
I was really amazed by the skill set Rose has and this girl has a brilliant brain. Rose was successful in keeping distance and showed great head movement. The fighting style which Rose has adopted is unique and not easy for other fighters to judge. Rose has proved that it was not a fluke and that she is the real deal, the real winner as she defeated Joanna for the second time.
Well as a UFC fan I was not really expecting the fight to go to distance but guess what? both men fought well and it went till the 4th round. Let me briefly tell you what happened, in the first round Fabricio took down Volkov and did some damage. In the second round it seemed as if Volkov has smelled Fabricio getting out of gas tank. In the 3rd round, Volkov took over and hit Fabricio with a couple of good punches. Finally in the 4th round Volkov knocked out Fabricio cleaned.

UFC 223 Venue & Date-Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
UFC 223 Venue & Date:
UFC 223 will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on 7th April, 2018.
It features two title fights and is expected to break the PPV earnings record once again after the Conor Mcgregor fight, let’s see what happens!
I can’t wait to see the best fighters go toe to toe & I am super excited to witness the fights.
The fight between Khabib & Ferguson was scheduled before at UFC 209 but was cancelled because of Khabib being unfit at that time.
Khabib is my favorite fighter because the way he trains is amazingly different from other UFC fighters.
I remember Khabib’s fight with Michael, where he was literally yelling at Dana to give him a shot at the title & why not, Khabib has proved to be one of the best fighters. He always puts on a great show…!
As I mentioned earlier, the way khabib trains is different as he fights with a real bear and is always trying to work on his stamina, training at higher altitudes.
Khabib has a 25 Fight win streak and is so explosive with his take down and grappling game. On the other hand Ferguson is a champ for a reason and can attack from different angles using elbows, knees, punches & kicks. Winner of this fight is most likely to fight Conor McGregor in future but the status is not clear as Dana White said that Conor might come back and fight & that it’s not fair with the other fighters to keep waiting for Conor to come back and fight. The Belt should be defended in a given time period but I guess, if you have earned the amount of money which Conor did, most probably, you will be busy exploring other big options to earn more and more. I wonder if Conor comes back, will he still be in that shape and mode to fight well as Mixed Martial Arts is all about being in practice and good shape. The game has evolved so much during the past few years that you can’t say anything with certainty, though we can predict up to some extent about who wins and who loses.
Dana White officially said that the fight between Tony Ferguson & Khabib Nurmagomedov would be for official lightweight championship belt & not for the interim title but I wish both fighters the best in gaining weight for the fight.
The Co-Main event will feature a rematch between current champion Rose Namajunas and Joanna for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship. I remember Rose knocking out Joanna in the first round and I said wow! I can’t wait to watch the rematch take place as I am myself a big UFC fan. Let’s see what Joanna has to offer this time. The last time they met was at UFC 217 which took place in November, 2017.

UFC 222 took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on 3rd March, 2018
It featured the best fight card as follows:
The first fight featured Cat Zingano vs. the Brazilian fighter (Vieira). Coming into the fight Zingano’s UFC record was 9 wins and 2 losses. The Brazilian fighter on the other hand had a 9-Fight Win streak. Zingano threw some knees, inside leg kicks and a fantastic body kick. Vieira used beautiful take down technique using her Jujitsu skills. Vieira looked impressive in the fight. The Brazilian fighter has Brazilian wrestling background. Coming into the fight Vieira ranked 5th and Zingano ranked 6th in the Bantamweight division. Zingano hurts her leg as Vieira blocks the leg kick from Zingano. Zingano gets taken down but manages to stand up and throw some heavy knees. Vieira wins the fight by split decision.
Watch out for the the best fights happening at UFC 223 where Khabib fights Tony Ferguson but the strange thing for me was that Ferguson has a 10 Fight win streak and Khabib has an 8 Fight win streak…it was strange as I have never seen Khabib losing the fight.
Stefan Struve vs. Andrei Arlovski heavyweight bout:
Coming into this fight the two fighters had the following record:
Stefan Struve: 32 wins and 9 losses Andrei Arlovski: 26 wins and 15 losses
Kick by Arlovski shakes Struve and then Arlovski gets a take down at the end of the first round. In the second round Andrei takes down Struve again and later in the second round Andrei complaints about poke in eye from Struve, in fact he yelled at the referee..!
It was a victory for Andrei winning by unanimous decision.
Sean O’Malley vs. Andre Soukhamthath:
The fight was almost over in the first round and if Sean had few seconds more, he could have won it there but Andre was lucky enough to survive. Super kicks thrown by Marley from different angles. In the first round, Malley was all over Soukhamthath and by the end of first round, Andre didn’t know where he is, he was struggling to recover. Almost a win by Sean in the second round but Andre survives again. In the third round, Sean hurts his leg badly and Andre takes advantage of it taking down Malley but eventually technique wins over luck. Sean wins the fight by unanimous decision.
Frankie Edgar vs. Brian Ortega featherweight bout:
Coming into the fight Brian had an unbeaten streak 13-0, 13 wins no losses.Frankie on the other hand had a record of 21 wins and 5 losses.
Before the fight took place everyone was expecting Frankie to win the fight by knockout but Brian shocks the world by an awesome elbow shutting off lights for Edgar in the very first round. Brian wins by knocking Edgar out by throwing an awesome right upper hook. Brian becomes the first person to have knocked out Frankie Edgar.
Cris Cyborg vs. Yana Kunitskaya (Featherweight Title Fight):
It was a completely one sided fight as Yana had nothing much to offer when Cyborg started throwing bombs in the very first round. Cyborg defends the title successfully winning by knockout.
Donald Cerrone vs Yancy Medeiros-UFC Fight Night 126 Results
It was the main event at UFC Fight Night 126 which took place on 18th of Feb, 2018 at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas
The fight was cool and didn’t seem to be one sided but it was a great victory for Cowboy. Cerrone finishes the fight in the first round winning by TKO. Earlier in the round, Yancy was looking active and was trying to be the aggressive one but Cerrone kept his calm and waited for the right time to hit Yancy with an amazing right hand power punch knocking out Yancy. The knockout punch by Cerrone was followed by a series of heavy punches as Yancy fell down.
Donald Cerrone is one of my favorite fighters and it’s always inspiring to see his fights.
I wish both fighters the best!
Both fighters showed tons of respect for each other. Donald had height advantage as he is 6 feet one inch tall and Yancy is 5 feet 10 inches tall but on the other hand Yancy had more reach, measuring 75.5″. With years of combat experience, it was a must win for Donald Cerrone.
Before the fight happened, Cerrone was ranked 11th in welterweight division and Yancy ranked 15th..!
UFC 221 Results and brief Main Card fights breakdown
Hey guys, what’s up?
It’s nishat here with the latest news on UFC 221 although this time I am a bit late…!
Well lets get to the point..!
UFC 221 Results:
Luke Rockhold vs. Yoel Romero – middleweight title fight:
It was a good start by Luke but I kept on thinking why Romero is not getting lose well then it was a matter of time when Romero hit Rockhold with a devastating knockout punch
followed by another brutal punch as Luke was falling down.
It was a great victory for the ‘Soldier of God’.
I wish both fighters the best..!
Curtis Blaydes vs. Mark Hunt heavyweight bout:
In the first couple of rounds it was all Mark Hunt but he ran out of gas tank and then it was fantastic grappling by Curtis. In the later rounds it was Curtis who kept
Mark Hunt down for most of the time. Blaydes threw heavy shots from the back mount and won by decision.
Tai Tuivasa vs. Cyril Asker: Tai Tuivasa won by hitting Cyril with a brutal knockout knee attack, the underdog wins..!!
Jake Matthews vs. Li Jingliang:
Jingliang faced a loss after a significant win streak..Matthews found success with his punches in the first two rounds and gained confidence as the fight went to distance.
All three judges awarded Jake Matthews the victory in terms of Unanimous decision.
Tyson Pedro vs. Saparbek Safarov – UFC light heavyweight :
It was the slickest submission by Tyson Pedro in the very first round…awesome move and submission. It happend when Saparbek was trying to take Pedro down at that time
Pedro had setup the submission on arm and with one awesome move of body it turned into a kimura submission trap.
UFC 221 is round the corner and I can’t wait to see the big fighters go toe to toe…!
Event features middleweight interim bout between Yoel Romero & Former Champion Luke Rockhold ..!
Luke is in phenomenal condition and this fight will feature two best fighters in the division. Romero is a Cuban Olympic wrestler with loads of techniques up his sleeves to take down and break his opponent & there are not that many human beings who move like him and on the other hand Rockhold has won many MMA titles. Rockhold entered UFC as a Strikeforce Champion. Rockhold has grown as a fighter for sure after his loss against Bisping in June, 2016 & he looks great in shape. In July of 2017, Romero was defeated by Whittaker & Australia gained their first UFC Champion (Whittaker) at UFC 213.
Luke said ‘I don’t live to be the second best’
Romero said during training “For my people in Miami, we got this”
For both fighters it’s about getting the title belt around their waist
I wish both fighters the best and would love to see one of the best fights in the history of MMA, below video is in Spanish
I congratulate UFC for having arranged such great MMA events through 22 countries and across over 100 cities, this time adding a new location to it’s extensive list none other than Perth, Australia
Here’s the other highlight, the Co-main event will feature the best heavyweight fighter to have represented Australia and Newzealand, none other than Mark Hunt fighting against Curtis Blaydes (#9 UFC heavyweight contender)
UFC 221 will take place on 11th Feb, at Perth Arena in Perth, Australia
It features the long awaited fight between Romero & Rockhold
Romero is a skilled fighter and I watched his last fight with Chris Weidman during which weidman was hit by Romero with Knee while weidman was trying to take down Romero. Romero is a very calculated fighter and according to my observation will be a tough nut to crack by Rockhold.
Rockhold’s last loss against Bisping was disappointing back in June 2016 and it takes a lot of effort and time to get the thoughts together. I wish both fighters the best & my prediction is that Romero will win the fight and hopefully Rockhold will be able to give tough time to Romero.
In the last few fights it seemed as if Romero runs out of gas tank and needs to work on his stamina.
This fight will be for interim title contest
At first it was decided by UFC management to arrange a fight between Georges St-Pierre & interim champion Robert Whittaker to serve headliner for UFC 221 but after GSP was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, it was not possible. I wish GSP the best and would love to see him in action again soon..!
The main card also features the following bouts:
Mark Hunt vs. Curtis Blaydes
Tai Tuivasa vs. Cyril Asker
Jake Matthews vs. Li Jingliang
Tyson Pedro vs. Saparbek Safarov
