UFC 223 Venue & Date-Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC 223 Venue & Date-Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC 223 Venue & Date:

UFC 223 will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on 7th April, 2018.

It features two title fights and is expected to break the PPV earnings record once again after the Conor Mcgregor fight, let’s see what happens!

I can’t wait to see the best fighters go toe to toe & I am super excited to witness the fights.

The fight between Khabib & Ferguson was scheduled before at UFC 209 but was cancelled because of Khabib being unfit at that time.

Khabib is my favorite fighter because the way he trains is amazingly different from other UFC fighters.
I remember Khabib’s fight with Michael, where he was literally yelling at Dana to give him a shot at the title & why not, Khabib has proved to be one of the best fighters. He always puts on a great show…!

As I mentioned earlier, the way khabib trains is different as he fights with a real bear and is always trying to work on his stamina, training at higher altitudes.

Khabib has a 25 Fight win streak and is so explosive with his take down and grappling game. On the other hand Ferguson is a champ for a reason and can attack from different angles using elbows, knees, punches & kicks. Winner of this fight is most likely to fight Conor McGregor in future but the status is not clear as Dana White said that Conor might come back and fight & that it’s not fair with the other fighters to keep waiting for Conor to come back and fight. The Belt should be defended in a given time period but I guess, if you have earned the amount of money which Conor did, most probably, you will be busy exploring other big options to earn more and more. I wonder if Conor comes back, will he still be in that shape and mode to fight well as Mixed Martial Arts is all about being in practice and good shape. The game has evolved so much during the past few years that you can’t say anything with certainty, though we can predict up to some extent about who wins and who loses.

Dana White officially said that the fight between Tony Ferguson & Khabib Nurmagomedov would be for official lightweight championship belt & not for the interim title but I wish both fighters the best in gaining weight for the fight.

The Co-Main event will feature a rematch between current champion Rose Namajunas and Joanna for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship. I remember Rose knocking out Joanna in the first round and I said wow! I can’t wait to watch the rematch take place as I am myself a big UFC fan. Let’s see what Joanna has to offer this time. The last time they met was at UFC 217 which took place in November, 2017.

UFC 222 Cris Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya Results & Brief Fights Breakdown

UFC 222 Cris Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya Results & Brief Fights Breakdown

UFC 222 took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on 3rd March, 2018

It featured the best fight card as follows:

The first fight featured Cat Zingano vs. the Brazilian fighter (Vieira). Coming into the fight Zingano’s UFC record was 9 wins and 2 losses. The Brazilian fighter on the other hand had a 9-Fight Win streak. Zingano threw some knees, inside leg kicks and a fantastic body kick. Vieira used beautiful take down technique using her Jujitsu skills. Vieira looked impressive in the fight. The Brazilian fighter has Brazilian wrestling background. Coming into the fight Vieira ranked 5th and Zingano ranked 6th in the Bantamweight division. Zingano hurts her leg as Vieira blocks the leg kick from Zingano. Zingano gets taken down but manages to stand up and throw some heavy knees. Vieira wins the fight by split decision.

Watch out for the the best fights happening at UFC 223 where Khabib fights Tony Ferguson but the strange thing for me was that Ferguson has a 10 Fight win streak and Khabib has an 8 Fight win streak…it was strange as I have never seen Khabib losing the fight.

Stefan Struve vs. Andrei Arlovski heavyweight bout:

Coming into this fight the two fighters had the following record:

Stefan Struve: 32 wins and 9 losses
Andrei Arlovski: 26 wins and 15 losses

Kick by Arlovski shakes Struve and then Arlovski gets a take down at the end of the first round. In the second round Andrei takes down Struve again and later in the second round Andrei complaints about poke in eye from Struve, in fact he yelled at the referee..!

It was a victory for Andrei winning by unanimous decision.

Sean O’Malley vs. Andre Soukhamthath:

The fight was almost over in the first round and if Sean had few seconds more, he could have won it there but Andre was lucky enough to survive. Super kicks thrown by Marley from different angles. In the first round, Malley was all over Soukhamthath and by the end of first round, Andre didn’t know where he is, he was struggling to recover. Almost a win by Sean in the second round but Andre survives again. In the third round, Sean hurts his leg badly and Andre takes advantage of it taking down Malley but eventually technique wins over luck. Sean wins the fight by unanimous decision.

ufc 222 cyborg vs Yana Kunitskaya

Frankie Edgar vs. Brian Ortega featherweight bout:

Coming into the fight Brian had an unbeaten streak 13-0, 13 wins no losses.Frankie on the other hand had a record of 21 wins and 5 losses.

Before the fight took place everyone was expecting Frankie to win the fight by knockout but Brian shocks the world by an awesome elbow shutting off lights for Edgar in the very first round. Brian wins by knocking Edgar out by throwing an awesome right upper hook. Brian becomes the first person to have knocked out Frankie Edgar.

Cris Cyborg vs. Yana Kunitskaya (Featherweight Title Fight):

It was a completely one sided fight as Yana had nothing much to offer when Cyborg started throwing bombs in the very first round. Cyborg defends the title successfully winning by knockout.

Well lets get to the point..!

UFC 221 Results:

Luke Rockhold vs. Yoel Romero – middleweight title fight:

It was a good start by Luke but I kept on thinking why Romero is not getting lose well then it was a matter of time when Romero hit Rockhold with a devastating knockout punch
followed by another brutal punch as Luke was falling down.
It was a great victory for the ‘Soldier of God’.
I wish both fighters the best..!

Curtis Blaydes vs. Mark Hunt heavyweight bout:

In the first couple of rounds it was all Mark Hunt but he ran out of gas tank and then it was fantastic grappling by Curtis. In the later rounds it was Curtis who kept
Mark Hunt down for most of the time. Blaydes threw heavy shots from the back mount and won by decision.

Tai Tuivasa vs. Cyril Asker: Tai Tuivasa won by hitting Cyril with a brutal knockout knee attack, the underdog wins..!!

Jake Matthews vs. Li Jingliang:

Jingliang faced a loss after a significant win streak..Matthews found success with his punches in the first two rounds and gained confidence as the fight went to distance.
All three judges awarded Jake Matthews the victory in terms of Unanimous decision.

Tyson Pedro vs. Saparbek Safarov – UFC light heavyweight :

It was the slickest submission by Tyson Pedro in the very first round…awesome move and submission. It happend when Saparbek was trying to take Pedro down at that time
Pedro had setup the submission on arm and with one awesome move of body it turned into a kimura submission trap.

UFC 209 Results and fights breakdown

UFC 209 took place on 4th of March, 2017.
Featuring great fights. Below is a brief breakdown:
ufc 209

Mark Hunt vs Alistar Overeem:

It was a rematch between the two fighters. The first time they fought, Alistar won the fight. First round was awesome and Mark showed great heart and spirit, although

Mark’s shin was cut open while Alistar blocked his kick.

2nd round was a close one, Mark throwed a couple of good shots but Alistar attacked several times with knees.

3rd round, Alistar knocked out Mark with a clean knee attack.

Cynthia Calvillo vs Amanda Cooper:

Cynthia wins with a submission lock. Great display of transitions and technique.

Rashad Evans vs Daniel Kelly:

Daniel is one of my favorite Judo fighters. It was Rashad’s middle weight debute fight. I give the first two rounds to Daniel as he was the more active fighter.
In such big events we all want to see fire works and it happened in the last round. Both fighters showed a lot of mutual respect for each other. Daniel deserved to

win this fight and he did.

–Don’t forget to watch out for UFC 210 featuring Anthony Johnson vs Daniel Cormier–

David Teymur vs Lando Vannata:

Both fighters have great fighting skill, knockout power and high pace. This was the best fight on the card when it comes to awesome technique and fire works. I enoyed

it a lot. David won the fight by unanimous decision.

Stephen Thompson vs Tyron Woodley:

I have a lot of respect for Stephen because he was able to survive the brutal attacks from Woodley and showed heart of a real figher in the las fight.

During the first two rounds, both fighters waited on each other but wonder boy threw more strikes. The later rounds Woodley had more prominent attacks and had wonder

boy in trouble. Woodley won the fight as majority decision and because he landed more significant strikes.
